23:51 May 30 2013 North Luzon Expressway, Bulacan, Philippines

Description
At least five people were reported hurt after a passenger bus crashed and turned on its side along the Manila-bound part of the North Luzon Expressway in Bulacan province early Thursday.

NLEX spokesman Buboy Valles cited sketchy initial information the Partas bus was involved in a "self-accident," going out of control and turning on its right side.

"Nagpadala kami ng ambulance ... tumagilid siya, right side down. (Pero) hindi naman nakakaapekto sa trapik (We have sent an ambulance to the area. The bus supposedly turned on its right side)," he said in an interview on dzBB radio.

Valles said the crash occurred before the bus reached the Bocaue toll plaza in Bulacan.

"May limang may minor injuries (At least five passengers suffered minor injuries)," he said.

He also cited initial information showing many of the passengers were scrambling to get out of the bus via the windows.

Valles said the bus driver is still being questioned on what caused the bus to crash. He said a thorough investigation will be held once the area is cleared.
